On Thursday 15 October, The Institute of Cancer Research will be welcoming Professor Ellen Heitzer for a guest talk hosted by Johann de Bono. Professor Heitzer is internationally recognised and is a committee member of the European Liquid Biopsy Society (ELBS) where she advocates for the standardisation and guidelines of LB approaches to enable widespread clinical use.
Everyone is welcome; the talk will be taking place in the BLB Lecture Theatre from 11:00 to 12:00.

The third annual Core Tech Fest returns on Thursday 8 October, this year held in the BLB. The day shines a light on the research technologies and expertise available at the ICR, bringing together three events in one.

Leaders from cancer research, clinical care, industry, investment and government are coming together to explore what’s next for cancer innovation. The forum is jointly hosted by The Institute of Cancer Research, Cancer Research Horizons, The Royal Marsden and the London Cancer District.

From discovery, through drug development, clinical trial, treatment, recovery, and the life around all it – the researchers, innovators and healthcare professionals working at the London Cancer District share their stories.
Plans for the £1 billion expansion of London Cancer Hub, led by Aviva Capital Partners and development manager Socius, have been approved by Sutton Council. Granted on World Cancer Day (4 February), the scheme will deliver around 1 million sq ft of laboratory and research space across 12 acres, supporting collaboration between researchers, clinicians, start-ups and global life sciences companies.
